Who would hire Claire O'Brien to do design or SEO work?

At some point, one has to wonder how Claire O'Brien survives. She's openly admitted on occasion that she doesn't really speak Spanish and that she's not a legal immigrant to or resident of Mexico. She's openly disdainful of Hispanics and their culture, as well as Jews.

They're (Jews) not alone. There are plenty of people like this. You should try doing business with Mexicans. Most of them have the hearts of thieves. They TOO have an "us" and "them" mentality. Coincidence? No.

"Ellos (los Judíos) no están solos. Hay muchas personas así. Deberían intentar hacer negocios con mexicanos. La mayoría tienen el corazón de un ratero. TAMBIÉN tienen una mentalidad de "nosotros" y "ustedes". ¿Coincidencia? No lo creo.

It really makes one pause and wonder who in Mexico would hire someone with an outlook like that. But, believe it or not, Claire actually has (or at least had) some customers who paid her for "SEO Optimization" and web design under her company name Maximized Webs.

According to google, the following companies were her customers. Each site has a blurb saying "Website Optimization by Maximized Webs" or something similar, with a link to Claire's last remaining SQWARK domain, sqwark.net. She recently disabled the link sqwark.net/maximized-webs.htm, in an attempt to keep her clients from finding out about her other online activities.

They should demand a refund.

It's not like Claire O'Brien is some kind of SEO (Search Engined Optimization) whiz either. In a thread on fuckedforum.com dated April 30, 2008, Claire showed her complete ignorance about the use of robots.txt and search engines.

Claire: Yes, but where is it? I couldn't see it, and didn't really need to. What I have said is enough to relegate it to nowhere. A robots.txt file is usually right at the top of the head.

As usual, Claire became antagonistic because people were amazed at her ignorance.

Claire:
Um no. A robots.txt file needs to be referenced in the head so the search engine doesn't um - search the site. It's an incredibly simple and logical thing, yet you can't even manage that. No surprises there. You're an ignorant and stupid fucktard.

Katalyst:
Ms O'Brien is currently busy Googling "robots.txt", please hold.

A robots.txt file is a simple text file that tells search engines like google and yahoo whether or not they have permission to add a site to their search results. It sits on the main directory of a given web site.

www.mysite.com/robots.txt
www. mybusiness.com/robots.txt

That might sound a little esoteric to some people, but for a professional Web designer to not know exactly what and where it is would be discouraging, to say the least. For someone like Claire who claims to be an SEO expert to not know all about the robots.txt file is like a mechanic not knowing what a transmission is, or a doctor not knowing the difference between a head cold and appendicitis.

In all honesty, the owners of those sites don't work on the Web and are spending their time running their business. They don't realize that thosee sites are amateurish and hideously ugly and that they were ripped off by a charlatan. In each case they would have been better off hiring a high school student, and probably would have been much happier with the results.

One can only quote PT Barnum: There's a sucker born every minute, and it looks like Claire found a number of suckers.
